I just tried the 2.6.4.2 autopackage on a Debian stable machine and the
installation failed with:
err:installIcon(): source "share/lilypond/2.6.4.2/images/lilypond.xpm"
was not found.
Invoking session rollback and returning the computer to its
previous state before this installation procedure was started.
I don't have the time to try 2.6.4.1 tonight.

autopackage and made 2.6.4.1 and 2.7.14 packages available that should
work better.
