Has this thread: http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/lilypond-user/2005-06/msg00225.html already been solved? I have the same problem. I have ...lilypond\usr\bin in path and I have also tried to set LiLYPOND_DATADIR (to ...lilypond\usr\share\lilypond\2.6.3) and GUILE_LOAD_PATH (to ...lilypond\usr\share\guile\1.7), but without any success. Dragging a file to LilyPond shortcut on the desktop works perfectly, double-clicking the *.ly file also works perfect, but I need to call lilypond from command line (in order to be able to use it inside ConTeXt), which fails -- I simply don't understand the difference beween the link to .exe on the desktop and the command line -- why one works and the other one not. I first tried it with the version 2.7.7 and then thought that the error may be due to a recently introduced problem and switched back to 2.6.3, but the behaviour didn't change - both old and new versions have problems. I also experienced some other problems - transformation to pdf failed when calling gs (it should be gswin32?) on an example .ly file from the documentation, but this was a strange and inconsistet failure, so I first have to inspect it and then send a more complete description.
