I've set up lilypond 2.6 for my client, and after reviewing the new documentation, here are his issues:
If you invoke the 20 \mm line, the result will indent the music 20 mm and place the instrument names accordingly. However in a .tex file, the indent function, whether it's default or invoked for a value, causes the bumping around of the top two music systems. As far as I can tell, the default font should be in the roman family but instead is in the sans family. If you try to force roman with code, the result is still the sans family. Does this mean that the roman family is not installed? What would cause/resolve this? There's a problem with the feta font. All of the trills that print with a "tr" above the staff are called with simple default coding. They are printing fine, but you can't move them if there's a collision. If you want to extra-offset a "tr" sign (or any sign from the feta font), you have to call it with the special coding, which is not working. The "tr" sign doesn't print. Furthermore, if you try to bracket the (phantom) "tr" sign with the \bracket code (with the hope that maybe the brackets will print), the file throws an error. My co-author is able to read on the computer the new pdf files I send her, but she can't print them! She gets a message that there's a postscript error. The levels file processes but cuts off the top 5/8" of the page when printing. This cut can be validated with the testpage.tex file that comes packed with the latex software. You can see that I've introduced the vertical offset (voffset) command into the file to try to correct the problem. When I use it, the vertical shift occrs; that is to say you can see the text on the monitor, but it won't print out. ------ So this is where I'm at. Does the package in either Fedora or Debian Sarge work out of the box?
