I hope my letter will not come to you with a lot of surprises. My name is Chief
Philippe Traore of Traore and Co Chambers, Abidjan Cote d’Ivoire. Our firm is an
international law firm of high repute with specialization in the area of financial
consulting and debt recovery. I also act as a fiduciary agent.
Having received good information about you, I wish to let you know of my intentions
to make you the beneficiary and trustee of funds with regards to one of our clients (a
widow) whose husband and 2 children were murdered during the political crisis here in
Cote d’Ivoire early this year. Her name is Mrs. Sandra Fernandez. Her late husband was
a wealthy farmer. He had farms in most parts of West Africa, he was also a cocoa
merchant and served as a director in the cocoa exporting and marketing board here in
Cote d’Ivoire before the rebels assassinated him for accusations that he was a staunch
supporter of the present government in power. My client Mrs. Sandra is presently under
a critical condition because of the trauma and emotional sufferings she has passed
through having lost her husband and children. Recently, she was diagnosed with breast
cancer. The cancer has developed to stage 3 and the doctor said she has less than one
week to leave.
When her husband was alive, he had an amount of money of Forty Million, Four Hundred
Thousand United States Dollars, (40.4Million) which he secretly deposited with a
leading bank in Europe. Her late husband deposited this fund with this bank letting
the bank to know that the fund was made for payment to one of their foreign clients
who supplied cocoa processing machines and equipments to the ministry he worked for.
Due to the present condition of my client, she has asked me as her lawyer to assist
her and get this fund safeguarded in a private account and in case she dies, part of
this fund should be channelled to charity donations and part to care for the
motherless children and the needy.
I WANT YOU TO RECEIVE THIS FUND IN YOUR ACCOUNT FOR THE PURPOSE MEANT. MY CLIENT
AGREED THAT YOU SHALL BE ENTITLED TO 40% OF THIS FUND FOR PROVIDING AN ACCOUNT AND
MANAGING THIS FUND.
I earnestly ask for your positive response to this letter so that I can give you more
information and to enable me prepare a written binding agreement between you and my
client to spell out your percentage and what purpose the fund shall be meant for. I
