Please provide a patch that introduces a way to read and set the limit on a task. This should be a privileged operation. Also modify glibc to propagate the limit from parent to child when creating a new process. Also update the standard resource usage utilities such that they can modify this limit. Finally, filesystem servers such as ext2fs should automatically set this limit way higher in case they are started as root.
