Except that this is not an easy task, since the translator is starting and doesn't process messages yet. A hackish way would be to have pci-arbiter define a variable that the hurd driver of libpciaccess would weak-reference (e.g. checking for strcmp(netfs_server_name, "pci-arbiter") ), to determine whether the process using libpciaccess is a pci arbiter (and should thus try x86) or not.
