Did you try 640x400? That is the standard VGA resolution that the
installer uses.

I have recently added support for keeping the standard 720x400 which
should really be no problem at all (since that's what the BIOS
initializes with), but it's not integrated in the installer yet.

What do you mean by enabling cfdisk?
