Hi! I forgot: I also re-created the 0.0, 0.1, and 0.2 GNU Hurd releases' states (as per the CVS tags; the respective release tarballs are more stripped-down), and pushed corresponding Git tags. Now »git describe --match '*release*'« can produce sensible output (and tells us we're 3349 commits past the 0.2 release, whew).
