> Good to know, though it feels like a bit of black magic. ;-) I suspect that it's due to (some follow-up effects of?) the binutils ctors/dtors change (see the last commit of my list in the other email), that indeed was different with the old and recent binutils (compare the configure.in check with old and recent ld).
