Unlike a few years back when it was first attempted, the system is stable enough under load nowadays, to make a source-based distribution actually feasible... (Note that the Debian buildds are actually helpful in this -- they serve as a permanent live testbed, which helped Samuel track down and fix many stability problems...) -antrik-
