Summary: ftpfs: Hang if network is down Project: The GNU Hurd Submitted by: rvbras Submitted on: Fri 26 Sep 2008 09:37:01 PM CEST Category: Hurd Servers Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: None Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: Remco Bras Originator Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Reproducibility: Every Time Size (loc): None Planned Release: None Effort: 0.00 Wiki-like text discussion box: _______________________________________________________ Details: Hi, On the latest Debian, ftpfs hangs indefinitely if the network is down. This happens if the translator's accessed directly, for example by ls in the directory it is set on. Other ways to reproduce this bug are ls in the directory containing the node ftpfs is set on, trying a tab completion in bash in the same directory and setting ftpfs while the network is down. I'm running Hurd on QEMU, using -net nic,model=rtl8139 -net user for networking. Perhaps ftpfs tries to do network I/O without any timeouts, causing it to hang waiting for the network to come up. If there's anything I could test, do tell me. Thanks, Remco _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?24383> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/
