Summary: Support LBA48 Project: The GNU Hurd Submitted by: sthibaul Submitted on: vendredi 23.11.2007 à 01:01 Category: GNU Mach Should Start On: vendredi 23.11.2007 à 00:00 Should be Finished on: vendredi 23.11.2007 à 00:00 Priority: 5 - Normal Status: None Privacy: Public Percent Complete: 0% Assigned to: None Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Planned Release: None Effort: 0.00 Wiki-like text discussion box: _______________________________________________________ Details: The current Linux ide driver only handles LBA28, i.e. 2^28 sectors = 128GB. Sectors above can't be reached by GNU Mach, LBA48 is needed for this. That means checking that the drive supports it (should anyway), and just use the LBA48 versions of read/write. That should push the limit to 2TB, since sector numbers are stored as unsigned ints _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/task/?7489> _______________________________________________ Message posté via/par Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Bug-hurd mailing list Bug-hurd@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-hurd
