Hello!

Neal had the following question after having synchronized by hand a load
of changes from the `hurd' repository's version of libpthread to the
`hurd-l4' one:

| <neal> tschwinge : Is there an easy way to keep libpthread in sync for
| both the mainline and for hurd-l4?

One idea was the following one:

| <azeem> integrate it into glibc :P
| <neal> well, that is an option, yes.

Roland?

Another one:

| <neal> I was thinking more along the lines of a synlink on savannah

This may be doable, but I don't know.

What I would suggest is the following: move libpthread out of both the
`hurd' and `hurd-l4' repositories and make it an own top-level tree,
still having it be a part of the Savannah Hurd project. Or even a
separate project.

And I also suggest to do that for other parts of the Hurd source code.
For example, why is libihash in the *Hurd* repository? I hope it isn't
Hurd-specific.

Regards,
 Thomas
