I wouldn't even want to hear the details - they are gory if I recall correctly. I had a look at it some time, but I just couldn't stand the pain and used sudo.
I only asked for a way to reproduce it, nothing more. "Debian packging" is vauge since the way things are done might change, and one might not be familiar with how you do Debian packaging (I sure don't). Examples are good since then the person wanting to fix the bug doesn't have to go out of his way in figuring out how to reproduce it. There are quite a few bugs that have been reported into the bug tracker without any clear example, so knowing if they are fixed or not would take time to figure out.
