=================== BUG #6047: FULL BUG SNAPSHOT =================== http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?func=detailbug&bug_id=6047&group_id=2613
Submitted by: ogi Project: GNU Core Utilities Submitted on: Sun 10/19/2003 at 14:56 Category: None Severity: 5 - Major Bug Group: None Resolution: None Assigned to: None Status: Open
Summary: rm -f "" prints diagnostic message under the Hurd
Original Submission: As stated by Single User Specification, version 3, option -f of rm should not print any diagnostic messages when file doesn't exist: http://www.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/007904975/utilities/rm.html
Under the Hurd, file name "" has special meaning, so instead of returning ENOENT, system interface function returns EINVAL, and so rm prints diagnostic message.
