This seems to be due to a bug in Hurd but not in Mach. The Linux partition handling code (genhd.c in gnumach) sets NR_SECTS to 2 if NR_SECTS of an extended partition is more than 2, because normal programs should not use any extended partition. An extended partition should be used only to put logical partitions into it. Therefore, I suspect that serverboot (and/or other program in Hurd) tries to read 2 sectors starting at 28 from any partition, whether it is an extended partition or not. > > > > No Followups Have Been Posted > > > CC list is empty > > > No files currently attached > > > For detailed info, follow this link: > http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?func=detailbug&bug_id=6378&group_id=30 > > _______________________________________________ > Message sent via/by Savannah > http://savannah.gnu.org/ > > > > > ------------------------------ > > Message: 4 > Date: Wed, 05 Nov 03 14:31:22 GMT > From: "gruzim" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: Gruzim > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" > > Бригада грузчиков-профессионалов, организует и > осуществит квартирные и офисные > переезды по Москве и ближайшем подмосковье, выполнит > работы по разгрузке фур и вагонов > (095) 725-17-98 > (095) 724-71-41 > (095) 508-19-00 > ------------РАБОТАЕМ 24 ЧАСА В СУТКИ------------ > > ------------------------------ > > Message: 5 > Date: Thu, 6 Nov 2003 11:03:48 -0500 > From: " E-gold.com " <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: e-gold.com > Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="windows-1251" > > > -------------- next part -------------- > An HTML attachment was scrubbed... > URL: http://mail.gnu.org/pipermail/bug- hurd/attachments/20031106/946f3458/attachment.htm > > ------------------------------ > > Message: 6 > Date: Wed, 05 Nov 2003 15:02:20 -0600 > From: "Tyrone Ackerman" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: Boost Your Car's Gas Mileage 27%+.....arvid > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" > > FUEL SAVER PRO > > This revolutionary device Boosts Gas Mileage 27%+ by helping fuel burn better using three patented processes from General Motors. > > Take a test drive Today - http://www.zppi.org/?axel=49 > > PROVEN TECHNOLOGY > A certified U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) laboratory recently completed tests on the new Fuel Saver. The results were astounding! Master Service, a subsidiary of Ford Motor Company, also conducted extensive emissions testing and obtained similar, unheard of results. The achievements of the Fuel Saver is so noteworthy to the environmental community, that Commercial News has featured it as their cover story in their June, 2000 edition. > > Take a test drive Today - http://www.zppi.org/?axel=49 > > > > > > > No more advertisements, thanks - http://www.aqmp.net/out5s/rem2e.asp > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > vuxsth c > gwmr st > mtsqoegoesdzwxb > > ------------------------------ > > Message: 7 > Date: Fri, 7 Nov 2003 15:08:40 -0000 > From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: Misplaced libs for pthreads > To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > > Why are the built pthread libs floating around in cvs? > > Lucas > > > > ------------------------------ > > Message: 8 > Date: Fri, 7 Nov 2003 15:08:58 -0000 > From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: Misplaced libs for pthreads > To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > > Why are the built pthread libs floating around in cvs? > > Lucas > > > > ------------------------------ > > Message: 9 > Date: Fri, 7 Nov 2003 16:33:25 +0100 > From: Johan Rydberg <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: Re: Misplaced libs for pthreads > To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII > > <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > : Why are the built pthread libs floating around in cvs? > > They are not.
