That doens't happen so often. If we grep out all known subscribers, what does remain? Are we afraid of losing one or two legitimate mails out of many spams? We can safely assume that people who are interested in the Hurd are also capable of subscribing to a mailing list before posting their queries (especially if automatically asked by mailman or whatever)... > Also some > people have mail configured to send mail from a different > address than their reply address is.
