Hi, was there ever a plan to make Hurd servers support configuration files? Right now the only way to configure them is via command line options. I think it could be convenient in the future to have them support configuration files; there could be per-server files and files, which apply to all servers and could set some defaults like e.g. a verbosity level for all servers (when they use a syslog mechanism..).
Configuration files for servers running as root could be stored in /etc/hurd/, while configuration for servers running as users could be stored in ~/etc/hurd/. Configuration file parsing could be easily done by linking the servers against libguile (wasn't it the plan once the use Guile as a "system scripting-language"? ...). Just an idea - what do people think about it? moritz -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] - http://duesseldorf.ccc.de/~moritz/ GPG fingerprint = 3A14 3923 15BE FD57 FC06 B501 0841 2D7B 6F98 4199 _______________________________________________ Bug-hurd mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-hurd
