Hi Rashim, I am vishwas. Even I am very new to GNU-HURD. I was able to install HURD on my Pentium Pro 400 using Debian image downloaded from ftp://ftp.gnu.org/iso/.
You can find more info about installing HURD at http://www.gnu.org/software/hurd/install.html As per the documentation cross-compiling MACH is not recommended for a newbie. Try donloading 1st CD image - burn it and install. I am looking for upgrading my HURD ( without downloading 600~Mb, which is not possible in INDIA) to `stdio-based GLibC Application Binary Interface (ABI) to the libio-based GLibC ABI` and `support for large disks (>= 10GB) `. Is it possible to replace the existing libraray at runtime or I have to reinstall with new binary image ? I am also looking for an area in HURD to contribute, can the HURD gurus help me in this aspect? Thanks & Regards vishwas. --- [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > Send Hurd-devel-readers mailing list submissions to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, > visit > > http://mail.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/hurd-devel-readers > or, via email, send a message with subject or body > 'help' to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > You can reach the person managing the list at > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > When replying, please edit your Subject line so it > is more specific > than "Re: Contents of Hurd-devel-readers digest..." > > > Today's Topics: > > 1. newbie question (Rashim Gupta) > > --__--__-- > > Message: 1 > From: "Rashim Gupta" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Date: Thu, 06 Jun 2002 10:07:50 -0400 > Subject: [Hurd-devel-readers] newbie question > Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Hi everyone, > I had a quick question.
