We noticed your patch, and tried it out, however it does not affect 300 baud communication at all. We avoided the speeds you had problems with. I will take a closer look at your patch soon. It is not forgotten, it's just that probably nobody else has a clue about it either, so we need at least to reproduce the problem you saw and test your fix. ;) But frobbing the watermarks et al for higher speeds is likely to be necessary (as you found out) to get a sane behaviour, so you can assume that I will check in your patch shortly.
