Did you try pulling with --fallback? I believe if substitute fetching fails Guix won't build from source unless you add that flag. Perhaps the error message in Guix pull could be updated to not say --8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8--- guix pull: error: You found a bug: the program ... failed to compute the derivation for Guix ....
