OK, so not as old as all that, then, really.
Even so, I doubt there's much chance of anyone preparing a 1.3.5
tarball, so are you happy with your own fix, so far as your own needs
are concerned?
Regarding 1.4, if would be good to understand the problems there soon,
as we're on the verge of releasing a 1.6. Have you tried any of the
1.6 pre-release tarballs on your system? (These are numbered 1.5.x,
and I believe the most recent is 1.5.4.)
