You can still get backspaces in _grotty_(1) output, even when specifying all
options that avoid them.


$ printf '.nf\n.cu 1\nHello, world.\n.pl \\n(nlu\n' | nroff -P -cbou | cat -v
Hello,_^H world.


We might add an option to keep the "continuous underlining" device extension
from performing overstriking, make `-C` (or whatever it gets called) imply
that plus `-cbou`, and make `TERM=dumb` synonymous with `-C` (or whatever).
