Follow-up Comment #5, bug #66504 (group groff): Hi Deri,

I use the FSF France's compiler farm: https://portal.cfarm.net/machines/list/ Unfortunately, many of the more exotic hosts of interest often seem to be unreachable. I'm never able to get to any of the *BSD machines, and even the macOS hosts are unavailable to me this time around--I was able to exercise them a bit for the groff 1.23.0 release push, as I recall. > If it compiles, happy for you to commit, whether it "works" is a > different matter, given dependencies on pdfinfo, file, identify, > perlmagick, ImageMagick >= 6.0, for different levels of "working", > which may not be available. > > Without any of these dependencies .PDFPIC fails, the only thing which > will still work is \X'pdf: pdfpic file.pdf ...'. But none of that is newly true due to the changed regexes, if I understand the patch. So mostly, I'm happy if the Perl interpreter on Solaris 10 gets the code compiled. :) If we need to add diagnostics to "pdfpic.tmac" to complain intelligibly when various external resources aren't available, that's easily done, and looks much less daunting to me than these high-calibre REs! Still waiting on the build...will follow up.
