Follow-up Comment #4, bug #66233 (group groff):
[comment #3 comment #3:] > [comment #1 comment #1:] > > tgu is aliased to `./build/test-groff -b -ww -Tutf8' > > To properly simulate nroff functionality, you should amend that alias to include the -mtty-char option, which nroff.sh adds unconditionally to its generated groff command. (The proposed patch in bug #62814 would negate the need for this addition.) Fair point. I didn't mention it because I don't ever use it myself, and I am in fact somewhat uneasy with the way this feature is presented. It feels to me more like the alternation of renderings as "tty-char" does should be controlled by a device-specific register instead of by selective load of a macro package that _nroff_ defaults to performing. The latter technique messes up _nroff_'s orthogonality, in my opinion. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?66233> _______________________________________________ Message sent via Savannah https://savannah.gnu.org/
