Hi, you are right, I found the string `<` and `>` to perform subscripting on gnu.org/software/groff/manual/groff.html. I was surprised that I didn't find this reference anywhere else. Thanks to your explanation I got it. In older sources I found the robust command "\u ... \d". However, the new string is much more elegant.
