Summary: Matrix Column Vertical Space is Sub Optimal Group: GNU roff Submitter: None Submitted: Fri 30 Jun 2023 06:54:28 AM UTC Category: Preprocessor eqn Severity: 3 - Normal Item Group: None Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Planned Release: None _______________________________________________________ Follow-up Comments: ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Fri 30 Jun 2023 06:54:28 AM UTC By: Anonymous See the attached. When I have two entries in the same row, one 0 and the other a term like { partial x } over { partial r } which have a big height difference, they are poorly spaced vertically. The code and a PDF are attached. Same problem with -ms or -mm. See my matrix A for the problem matrix. The matrix B is better aligned but I had to seriously mess with fake (unpadded space) subscripts and superscripts to achieve this. The example C tries to imitate the spacing this is expected in A.
