Summary: [mm]: semi-blocked letter style uses wrong, hard-coded paragraph indentation Group: GNU roff Submitter: gbranden Submitted: Sun 18 Jun 2023 02:27:43 AM UTC Category: Macro mm Severity: 3 - Normal Item Group: Feature change Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Planned Release: None _______________________________________________________ Follow-up Comments: ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sun 18 Jun 2023 02:27:43 AM UTC By: G. Branden Robinson <gbranden> This feature is a mess. * The DWB 3.3 mm manual says that paragraphs of semi-blocked letters (`.LT SB`) get a first-line indentation of 3 ens. * groff_mm(7) says they get 5 ens. * groff mm's actual implementation uses 5 _ems_ (twice as much as documented). Finally, I wonder why in the hell it didn't occur to anyone to just use the amount stored in the `Pi` register, so the user could configure it. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?64315> _______________________________________________ Message sent via Savannah https://savannah.gnu.org/
