This is not a bug report, but there doesn't seem to be any better place for my question than this, so I'm asking it here.
According to the manual:
: In addition, the variant programs egrep and fgrep are the same as grep
: -E and grep -F, respectively. These variants are deprecated, but are
: provided for backward compatibility.
Is there any plan to remove support for fgrep and egrep in the
predictible future? If yes, is there any timeline set for that action?
