In gmail as a web application, you can't avoid top-posting without manual effort [1]. But you can choose another mail user agent (program) for the same email provider, thanks to * a standardized protocol (IMAP) that allows you to access your data, * Free Software programs for doing email: Evolution [2], Thunderbird [3], KMail [4][5], and several others.
