Perhaps you could try my rewrite of the bootstrap script, with which I cannot reproduce the problem you describe? Inside a freshly cloned libtool or zile git repo (which use my rewrite), running ./bootstrap (with --gnulib-srcdir=../gnulib or similar if you prefer) simply does the right thing. The rewrite is compatible with the bootstrap.conf format of the gnulib bootstrap script, but is much easier to extend without any ugly hacks. Cheers, -- Gary V. Vaughan (gary AT gnu DOT org)
