Please don't take that personally. People are annoyed by 8+3 not by you and we users value very much your tireless and long-term contribution to Emacs. The thing though is 8+3 is on everybody's mind so they will unconsciously name files that way even in cases difficult to do so. BTW, what I meant by weirdly-named files are, for example, those c.el, dired.el etc in cedet. One has to look at its enclosing directory to guess what it does. Leo -- Oracle is the new evil
