Maybe your point is that you are a skilled Emacs Lisp hacker, and want something to hack on? No, i just wanted to post code for impatient people to use (and hack). I did not take maintenance burden into consideration, although perhaps i should have. In the latest revision (i believe in a "libposix" thread), there is more consideration, in that lists are mined from the venerable MODULES.html.sh, but the spirit is still non-aggressive sharing for sharing's sake (FWIW, YMMV). It was fun to write, in any case; no need to worry about wasted whiles. Re Emacs Lisp not being a good fit for the skills of gnulib maintainers, i wouldn't know. I assumed that Emacs, older than GNU itself, would be not so difficult a tool to wield (despite its downsides) for this group as you seem to be saying. If anything, i was hoping for critique on the code from fellow programmers (of any and all stripes) so that i could improve my own skills. Put another way, i would be really surprised to hear all the gnulib maintainers chime in to say, "sorry, i don't do Emacs Lisp, now and forever". Not only surprised, but saddened, TBH. [three proposals] Thank you for these ideas -- i will keep them in mind for the next time.
