Hi, FYI, Debian apparently does not accept new packages that bundle gnulib, asking to rebootstrap with their packaged copy instead. http://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=gnulib
Just to know, what do you think about it? Afaics the Debian 'gnulib' package is refreshed monthly with a git checkout dated "this month's 1st day at 00:00". Since gnulib is a 'no release' project I'm not sure about it. Usually I perform some testing of my copy of gnulib and I refresh it only after a release. At the same time it makes it easier (though not automatic, since it's a build-time dependency) to update all Debian packages using gnulib should there be a security fix. Cheers, -- Sylvain PS: in the following, by 'gnutools' Kalle meant 'gnulib', and by 'fredink-data' he meant 'freedink'. ----- Forwarded message from Kalle Kivimaa <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ----- From: Kalle Kivimaa <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sylvain Beucler <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, Debian Games Team <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: Debian Installer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: freedink-data_1.08.20080920-1_i386.changes REJECTED Date: Sun, 26 Oct 2008 08:22:05 +0000 Dear Maintainer, rejected because gnutools, which you have included in your package, is already in Debian. Having convinience copies of existing code is bad. Also, you're missing autotools/install.sh copyright statement in debian/copyright. === If you don't understand why your files were rejected, or if the override file requires editing, reply to this email. ----- End forwarded message -----
