So I gather that `fold', `cut', and `paste' stand no chance of ending up listed in make-stds.texi?
I've never approached rms about adding to the command lists, but it seems reasonable to suppose that he would want a justification for each one, ie, why the job can't be reasonably accomplished with the programs already in the list. You already wrote that justification for awk. If there is a good justification and a practical need for a given program, I don't see any a priori reason why he'd reject it. Personally, since we're already listing some of the programs from coreutils, I don't really see a lot of practical issues arising from adding any others. Or am I missing something? make-stds.texi is the fact that there are two lists of tools: I'll need to look at this over the weekend before I can say anything semi-coherent. Thanks, karl
