Arg, these crossed in the mail. Well, I went the other way and came up with a patch that should be acceptable to glibc, if we can ever get past the current hitch in that area. I'm willing to keep trying with glibc, at least for a bit longer; as far as gnulib itself is concerned it should work either way.
