For what it's worth, I hadn't realized that when I started packaging Autoconf snapshots for Debian. I'm not sure that I'll continue to do so in the future, at least outside of Debian's "experimental" section, because it seems to cause actual problems for people in practice. -- "Welcome to the Slippery Slope.
