I would say, no. The user should set CC to "gcc -std=gnu99", not "gcc -std=c99", when he wants to use gnulib. gnulib uses a lot of POSIX functions, which are all supposed to be undeclared by the header files if you use "gcc -std=c99". ENOMEM is just one of them. It's like on HP-UX, you cannot go far with "cc -Aa". You need "cc -Ae". Bruno
