Not for getopt.c, since POSIX requires the word "illegal" there;

Well, it could be made POSIXLY_CORRECT, since GNU programs aren't
supposed to use "illegal" for this sort of thing, as we all know.
However, it's such a minor point that I certainly don't wish to
strenously argue for it :).

    regexprops-generic.texi claims that it's generated automatically,
    but I don't know what process does that.  Karl?

Well, I guess it's good that lists.gnu.org is repeating mail, because I
didn't see this before.  Anyway, James Youngman wrote the program
(regexprops.c) which generates that file.  James, when you have a chance
can you fix illegal->invalid and regenerate it?
