My bad. I was thinking about the need for CVS M4's in-script search path modification to get rid of aclocal. To correct my earlier assertions: some future version of Autoconf/Automake won't need the aclocal hack anymore, and *that* will need M4-2.0. M4-2.0 is still blocked until Libtool-2.0 releases btw.
