Your grep coloring is conflicting with the URLs used in --help output.
You can avoid your grep alias with \ like:

   $ realpath --help | \grep -Fe '-e'

Interesting. I wonder if that will cause bug reports for RHEL (maybe
others?) down the line, since they add those aliases by default:

     $ podman run --rm -it redhat/ubi10
     $ alias | grep grep
     alias egrep='grep -E --color=auto'
     alias fgrep='grep -F --color=auto'
     alias grep='grep --color=auto'
     alias zegrep='zegrep --color=auto'
     alias zfgrep='zfgrep --color=auto'
     alias zgrep='zgrep --color=auto'

I assume it is fairly common to grep for a specific option in --help
output. Then again, I am not sure what more we can do than maybe give
them a heads up.
Programmatic parsing of --help should be very rare,
and for filtering with grep etc. I thought it better to maintain the URLs,

also I didn't think the failure here was too onerous.

cheers,
