| Hi,
| i've installed ubuntu 7.10 on a desktop - pentium IV, and on a laptop -
amd64 athlon.
| when i type
|
| uname -p
|
| the answer is
|
| unknow
|
| What's the matter????

This is not a bug.  Rather, it is a deficiency in your OS's uname(2) call;
coreutils uname(1) is merely reporting the truth that your OS does not
provide this information in an easily accessible manner.
