The git-to-cvs "update" hook that was keeping the CVS repository in sync with the master git one was unable to deal with the non-linear deltas of today's big merge.
If you rely on the savannah coreutils cvs repository, please consider switching to git. In the long run, we hope to set up a git-cvsserver interface so we won't have to rely on the script that failed today.
