Based on your title, and the fact that you mention network shares, it is obvious that you are running a version of coreutils compiled for Windows. > I think I found a bug: ln.exe does not make any hardlinks to a file without > extension. Please report it to wherever you obtained the binary (perhaps it was cygwin or mingw?)
