Nick,

Thanks.  I see that you still needed to bring in some of the changes to the
test script that you made in your previous commit.  I assumed all the changes
you had to make to my first proposed fix were required because of my change to
lay out the sections in a source file.  But since changes were still required
to exclude AIX and VMS targets and adjust the regexps for 64-bit Cygwin
targets, that must mean those other targets were getting unexpected FAILs, too.
 I assumed pdp11 was an outlier, but I gather that testsuite compliance has not
been strictly maintained.

Please quantify how much disk space and time is required for the testing.  I
don't know if it would be feasible on my MacBook Pro.  There are also a few
complications imposed by the Mac using clang.  I might be able to set up a
server machine.
