This bug seems to be related to the following postings:

The problem is, that the visibility of the symbols still cannot be changed.
Since it was suggested that a bug being filed, but there is none yet, I am
filing it now. Since the problem still persists, and I was not able to verify
that the submitted patch has already been applied I am wondering what I could
(or should) do about it.
