Thanks for the test case. The problem appears to be that the special
assembler created section "*GAS 'reg' section*" is somehow being copied into
the output file, when it really should not be.
Please could you open a bug report at:
http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/
Please include the test.S file, the assembler command line that gcc is using
and a note of the toolchain that you are using (x86-64-linux-gnu). Please also
mention that this bug still exists in the current mainline development sources.
