For the record: it doesn't actually work. When the daemon script is run by systemd, there is no stdin to read from and the read command above returns immediately with a failure. Which brings another question: is there any plan to implement sleep as a bash builtin? This is the last external command in several of my scripts, it doesn't seem particularly difficult to implement, and that would solve the problem at hand. Thanks, -- Jean Delvare SUSE L3 Support
