With M-x term I get: $ echo $TERM eterm-color $ echo $EMACS 22.1.1 (term:0.96) And the "script" command reveals that bash sends SUB //home/micah CR LF. With M-x shell I get: $ echo $TERM dumb $ echo $EMACS t And no special path stuff is sent. With M-x terminal I get: $ echo $TERM emacs-em7955 $ echo $EMACS $ And no special path stuff is sent. - -- Micah J.
