Thanks for the report, but I'm not sure what to do with it. What
particular lines in that output file do you think point out a bug in
autoconf? Nothing in that file jumped out at me as being indicative of
a bug; the tail of the file shows that your command completed without
any error messages at the end. A good bug report says not only what
happened, but what you expected to happen and how the two are different.
Furthermore, the example started out with:
localhost:~ purrcy$ sudo port -vds install gnuchess
Password:
which doesn't mention autoconf anywhere, but rather port. Are you sure
you are directing your complaint to the right mailing list?
